Valley Rush Buckeyes aspires to be an outstanding educational-athletic organization that provides a high-quality experience to every athlete.  As a proud member of the Gold Coast Youth Football League (GCYFL) we are excited to bring decades of high-caliber coaching experience to the athletes of the San Fernando Valley in the form of tackle football.

Due to the current global COVID-19 pandemic, the upcoming 2020 season will present its own unique challenges.  Below are some FAQs:

Q: How do I sign up?
Below are links to the player application and mandatory physical.  The online application will be processed and when we are able to safely meet in person, we will then collect your ink signature.

  1. Complete registration form and make deposit: RUSH_Football_Player_Application
  2. Have a physician complete the physical form prior to 7/15/20: Physical_Form

In order to register, a $125 deposit is required for each child.  This deposit is fully refundable in the event our season is canceled prior to July 1, 2021.

Q: Will we have a season?
A: Taking into consideration the current pandemic, we are working closely with the GCYFL to ensure a safe football season.  As LA County “safer at home” orders continue to be modified and loosened, we are working on multiple contingency plans including possibly starting the season late or extending it beyond November.

Q: What is the registration fee?  What does it include? Is there a sibling discount?
A: The registration cost for the season is $450.  We offer a $50 discount for each sibling. This fee includes a practice jersey, two game jerseys (one red and one white), and the use of game pants, shoulder pads, and a helmet.

For the 2021 season, we are now required to have an additional referee for most games as well as each game will have onsite medics to esnure the safety of our players.

Athletes get to keep the practice jersey and the personalized white game jersey.  All other equipment must be returned.  In the event of loss or excessive damage (beyond normal wear and tear), replacement gear will be charged at the fair market value of the item at the time of purchase.

Q: When and where are practices and games?
As soon as it is safe to do so, we will begin workouts at our regular practice facilities which include Louise Park and Monroe High School.

As of now, our first official day of practice is still July 13, 2021 Practices will be Monday – Friday from 6-8 pm.  10 hours of practice is required before helmets will be distributed and an additional 10 hours is required before shoulder pads are handed out to each athlete.

Q: What additional items will I need?
Football players will also need the following equipment:

  • Chinstrap
  • Mouthpiece
  • Cleats
  • Integrated football girdle
  • Cup
  • Optional items include gloves, padded compression shirts, back flaps, etc.
