Important Parent Update: Fundraiser, Uniform Distribution, and Code of Conduct

Dear Rush Football Family,

As we gear up for an exciting football season, we have a few important updates to share. Your cooperation and support are crucial to ensuring a successful year for our youth football program. Here’s what you need to know:

Week 1 Games

Get ready for kickoff! Week 1 is right around the corner, and we’re excited to get the season started. Make sure to check the BandApp for all the details on game schedules, locations, and times. Stay updated and be prepared for an action-packed start to the season! 🏈🎉

Mandatory Snap! Raise Fundraiser

This season, we are implementing a mandatory Snap! Raise fundraiser to help cover the rising costs of running our youth football program. We need each player to provide a minimum of 20 cell phone numbers or email addresses for our fundraising efforts, and we require 100% participation from all families. The cost of maintaining our program has significantly increased, particularly due to facility fees. For example, Birmingham High School, where we play our games, has raised its facility fee from $600 per game last year to $2,400 per game this year—an alarming 400% increase. Adding in referee fees, we are looking at a minimum of $5,000 per game to host our home games. This significant jump underscores the necessity of our fundraiser.

It is important to note that we are now one of just three teams left in the Valley, down from over 20 teams just seven years ago. This significant reduction highlights the growing challenges of running a volunteer-based youth program amidst rising costs and decreasing participation. Compounding these difficulties is the ongoing campaign to end youth tackle football, including legislative efforts such as AB734, which seeks to impose stricter regulations on tackle football programs adds to the complexities we face.

Given these challenges, our fundraiser is crucial for covering unexpected costs and sustaining our program. Please ensure you’ve submitted your email addresses as soon as possible. The success of this fundraiser will help us continue providing a high-quality experience for our players, including an exciting end-of-season banquet.

Uniform Distribution

Uniform distribution is scheduled for this week. To pick up your child’s uniform, all account balances must be paid in full, and you must have submitted the required 20 cell phone numbers or email addresses for the SnapRaise fundraiser. For those who have submitted their email addresses to Snap! Raise, uniforms will be distributed tomorrow, Wednesday, August 21st. Please ensure that you meet these requirements to avoid any delays.

Code of Conduct Reminder

As we head into the season, we want to remind everyone about the importance of maintaining good behavior at all games. The code of conduct for players, coaches, and spectators is in place to ensure a positive and respectful environment for everyone involved. Please set a strong example for our young athletes by adhering to these standards. Remember, our conduct reflects on our program, and we want to foster an atmosphere of sportsmanship and respect.
