Hello Rush Fam!!
Welcome to the 2024 season of Valley Rush Track & Field!
In anticipation of the coming “Pineapple Express” storm headed our way, we are going to preemptively cancel practice this week and begin practices on Monday, February 12, 2024.
Practice dates/times will remain as follows:
Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm – Sub-gremlins, Gremlins and Bantams
6:30 pm – 8:00 pm – Juniors, Youth & Intermediate
Registration
We are nearing our maximum capacity. To ensure a spot on our roster, please complete your athlete registration here.
The registration fee is $250 for the first athlete, $225 for the second athlete and $200 for the third athlete. Prices will increase after February 5th. The registration fee covers each athlete’s uniform, trophy, insurance and meet ribbons and medals.
Age verification for new athletes is required. If you have not already done so, please email a copy of your athlete’s birth certificate or passport to adreena1122@gmail.com.
Your child will only be allowed to practice if they are registered, and payment is received. Track & field is a competitive sport and all athletes must attend at least two practices per week and participate in three meets to be on the team and be eligible to compete in our Open/League Finals and Individual Event Championships.
What should my athlete wear?
Wear the right shoes – For practices, please wear a pair of lightweight comfortable running shoes (no Vans, Converse, Uggs, etc.). Beginning Tuesday, February 20 Gremlins and older will be required to bring a pair of track spikes to each practice.
There is a sprint spike for every budget, some examples can be found here: Nike Air Zoom Maxfly, Under Armour Kick Sprint or Saucony Spitfire 5 . Please practice spike safety – carry your spikes in a bag and only wear them after instructed to do so by your coach.
Additionally, you should consider purchasing a bag of 100 3/16” pyramid replacement spikes from Amazon or VS Athletics.
Dress appropriately for the weather – wear t-shirts or tank tops and shorts that are made from performance or tech materials which help to keep you cool and wicks away sweat to stay dry during the entirety of practice. On colder days, layer with sweatpants or leggings and a sweatshirt or light jacket.
Spiritwear – T-shirts and hoodies are available for purchase on our website and usually take about a week to process the order. Spiritwear orders will be passed out at practice.
Uniforms, consisting of a top and shorts will be handed out during the week of March 13th.
