Welcome! The focus of this program is to teach skills and provide a fun track experience for your child and teach them the fundamentals to prepare them to compete at the high school level. Each athlete will get to experience all the different available events for their age group. We will not have kids specialize in one event with this program.
Invoices have been sent to everyone who has registered. Please make sure to submit payments ASAP.
All new athletes will need to submit a photocopy of their birth certificate or passport to adreena1122@gmail.com.
Practice
Our practices are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at Chatsworth High School. SG/G/B will be from 6-7:15 pm and M/Y/I/YMW will be from 6-7:30 pm.
Please get into the habit of checking our event calendar located at www.sfvrush.com/events – this is where you can find the most up to date information re practice and meet schedules.
Age Groups
Our athletes will complete based on their year of birth. See below for reference:
Sub-gremlin 2016 – 2017
Gremlin 2014 – 2015
Bantam 2012 – 2013
Midget 2010 – 2011
Youth 2008 – 2009
Intermediate 2006 – 2007
Young Men/Women 2005 and older
Practice Attire
Please have your athlete wear comfortable weather-appropriate attire to practice. This includes T-shirts, shorts, socks and comfortable running shoes. On cooler days, please have them wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt. Also remember to send plenty of water and have them hydrate prior to coming to practice.
Spikes
Gremlins and older will need to start wearing spikes to practice. Athletes should purchase a sprint spike like this, this or this.
You should also buy two sets of replacement spikes – 1 type for our dirt track and 1 type for our meets, which will be on a tartan or rubber track. See below for links to purchase. Spikes will need to be replaced about once per week, so I recommend buying them in quantities of 100 to ultimately save money.

As a reminder, with almost 200 athletes on the track – no parents are allowed on the field!
